My drive to Halifax began with a veggie oil short bus. Two friends pick me up at the connector to the hiway and as I step up into the back of the bus I am greeted with a huge smile. We get sorted and on the road and the smell of vegetable oil with a hint of diesel permeates the air. A few hours later, filled with chatter and pit stops, we pull into the huge city. Traffic is steady even at night here. Warm welcomes abound, I settle in for the night as a couch guest. In the morning a small group of us head to Marys for breakfast, as they have tasty coffee and a delicious garlic sauce that sends the ol taste buds to heaven. When the night comes, I head out to meet with a fellow artist and friend for an evening supper before the show. We walk up the street after eating a delicious meal with a free smoothie each , where the set up for the show begins. I pull out my paints and set up my easel as my friend excitedly sifts through my paintbox, squeaking at the colors and reading out the names of them. I tell her I have an extra canvas and invite her to paint with me during the show and she is just tickled. We spend the night smiling and dancing and painting with wonderful tunes and wonderful people swirling around us as we paint the night. The sacred and magical energy of the place is very powerful as we all felt the full blood moon about to eclipse. The night ends with egg and bagel breakfasts and a diagonal sleep in a very large bed :)
